Ana García López

Ana García López es doctora en Bellas Artes y profesora e investigadora en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Granada (España). Realizó estudios de posgrado en Gráficos por Ordenador en UCLA (University of California Los Ángeles, EE. UU.) siendo su tesis doctoral galardonada con el Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado en 2003 (UGR).
Desde enero de 2021 es directora de la "Cátedra de Innovación en Artesanía, Diseño y Arte Contemporáneo" de la Universidad de Granada, y asumió los cargos de vicedecana de Relaciones Internacionales e Investigación en la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la UGR entre 2008 y 2018.
Su principal línea de investigación se centra en la relación entre el arte contemporáneo, el diseño, el patrimonio y la artesanía mediante el uso de tecnologías, bajo paradigmas de economía circular y sostenibilidad.
Actualmente dirige tres proyectos de investigación multidisciplinares, multisectoriales e internacionales: dos proyectos europeos (acciones Marie Sklodowska-Curie H2020) WARMEST y RRREMAKER, y un proyecto nacional con financiación FEDER: MakerArt, una propuesta para la transformación digital de la industria cultural vinculada a la artesanía, a través del diseño, los procesos colaborativos y la cultura *maker*.
Además, coordina el proyecto Interreg EuroMED HERIT ADAPT (*HERItage and territory resilience through sustainable Tourism, climate change ADAPtation and ciTizen engagement*), iniciado en enero de 2024.
Ha publicado numerosos artículos de impacto en revistas nacionales e internacionales de prestigio.
Ha dirigido diversos proyectos culturales con la participación de artistas y empresas internacionales, tanto en España como en el extranjero. En Granada, ha dirigido la exposición Arte Efímero: Tradición y Modernidad (2008 y 2009) y la Bienal del Milenio: Arte Contemporáneo y Patrimonio (2011), en colaboración con el Consorcio para la Conmemoración del Primer Milenio del Reino de Granada. Es codirectora de la Residencia Artística José Guerrero en el Valle de Lecrín (Granada) y directora del proyecto ADA Artesanía+Diseño+Arte.
Imparte conferencias e investigaciones en centros e instituciones nacionales e internacionales. Como investigadora, ha participado en numerosos proyectos internacionales, publicaciones de impacto y en las redes internacionales Paradox Fine Art European Forum y ELIA (European League of Institutes of the Arts).

Ana García López holds a PhD in Fine Arts and is Professor and Researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Granada (Spain). She postgraduated in Computer Graphics at UCLA (University of California Los Angeles, USA) and her doctorate thesis was awarded extraordinary doctorate prize in 2003 (UGR).
She is Director of the research Chair for Innovation in Crafts, Design and Contemporary Art at the University of Granada since January 2021 and has been Vice-Dean of International Relations and Research at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UGR (2008-2018).
Her main line of research focuses on the relationship between contemporary art, design, heritage and crafts with the use of technologies, under paradigms of circular economy and sustainability.
She is currently leading three multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral and international research projects: two EU research projects (Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions H2020) WARMEST and RRREMAKER and one national project (European ERDF funding) MakerArt: proposal for the digital transformation of the cultural industry related to crafts, through design, collaborative processes, and Maker culture. In addition, it coordinates the Interreg EuroMED project HERIT ADAPT: HERItage and territory resilience through sustainable Tourism, climate change ADAPtation and ciTizen engagement which started in January 2024.
She has impact publications in international Journals.
She has directed several cultural projects, with the presence of international artists and companies both in Spain and abroad. In Granada, she has directed the 'Ephemeral Art Exhibition: Tradition and Modernity' (2008 and 2009) and the `Millennium Biennale: Contemporary Art and Heritage' (2011) in collaboration with the Consortium for the celebration of the first Millennium of the Kingdom of Granada. She is co-director of the José Guerrero Artists Residence in the Lecrín Valley (Granada) and director of the ADA Crafts+Design+Art project.
She lectures and researches in national and international centres and institutions. As a researcher, she has participated in numerous international projects and impact publications and in the international networks Paradox Fine Art European Forum and ELIA (European League of Institutes of the Arts).
